More Benefits of Blogging

Happy Monday, People.

I’m working on my great-grandfather Leo Lessiack’s history at the moment, and will have lots of stories and pictures to share soon. Stay tuned. Researching German and Austrian genealogy is a bit tricky, I’m finding, but I’m making decent headway. I’m very grateful for Google Translate, and am getting better and better at deciphering that crazy German Gothic font where all the “s’s” look like “f’s”. Yowza.

But — news flash! — another cousin has found me. I’m delighted to report that I’m now in touch with a heretofore unknown member of my Adams people, and we are now busily collaborating to fill in gaps in the Adams family lore. What a glorious turn of events! When the going gets tough, it’s moments like these that give my motivation a turbo boost.

My great-uncles Bob Adams and Roger Adams in the Panama Canal Zone in (I’m guessing) the late 1930’s. Photographer unknown. I love those great big smiles.

Alas, I do not. But don’t they look sharp? I wish that people still dressed like this, but then again, when I think of the washing and ironing, maybe not. Thanks for stopping by.
